SUMMARY:Speaker Series: A Path to Financial Independence
DESCRIPTION:Join us as we continue our monthly speaker series focused on building understanding\, access\, and belonging for individuals with different abilities. \nSteph Linares has served as an ABLE United spokesperson for the past 6 years and is based in South Florida. She is the account administrator for her son’s ABLE account and is passionate about educating individuals about the ways to save with an ABLE United account. \nJoin us for a crash course on the ins and outs of ABLE United accounts. In this presentation\, we’ll provide a high-level overview of the program\, including its history\, who is eligible\, and how ABLE accounts allow individuals with disabilities to save and invest while maintaining important benefits. We’ll also cover how the accounts work with programs like Supplemental Security Income (SSI) and Medicaid\, the types of expenses the funds can support\, and the steps to enroll and manage an account. \nPlease Note: This event will be streamed live on Facebook only. No in-person event will be held.
