Our Response to COVID-19

At Family Initiative, Inc., your family is our #1 priority. As we continue to navigate the challenges of coronavirus, we want you to know everything we are doing to protect youth and protect our employees.

We are continuing to monitor and implement guidelines and recommendations from the World Health Organization (WHO), the U.S. Centers for Disease Control (CDC), the Florida Department of Health (DOH) and the county health department.

As we begin preparing to resume face-to-face activities, we will be implementing multiple additional procedures to keep youth and employees safe:

  • Social distancing: We will keep staff and youth at recommended distances to prevent the spread of germs.

  • Sanitizing: We will be sanitizing doors, tables, chairs and other high-touch areas between groups.

  • Hand-washing: Employees will be regularly washing hands, and all youth will be asked to wash hands before and after groups.

  • Masks: All employees will be wearing masks while they are recommended. Youth who are able to wear masks will also be asked to wear them.

  • Temperature Check: We will be checking temperatures of all employees and youth before they are allowed to enter the building. Anyone with a temperature of more than 100˚F will not be allowed in.

  • To help us prevent the spread of COVID-19, we are requesting that any youth, caregiver or employee let us know if you have:

    • A fever greater than 100˚F

    • Any coughing or shortness of breath

    • Have been in contact with anyone diagnosed with COVID-19 within 14 days

    • Any other cold or viral symptoms

    • Has traveled to a COVID-19 hotspot out of the area recently

  • Please limit visitors or other outside individuals in your home while our staff is in your home providing services.

  • Please allow our staff to provide services outdoors, for example if there is a porch available or a park nearby.

  • Please provide access to allow staff to sanitize the area they will be working in with your child, and access to handwashing.

It is our #1 priority to keep our patients and employees safe. If you have any questions or concerns, please feel free to contact us at any time.
