Family, Parenting & Love: A Brain-Based Approach to Supporting Regulation

December 3 @ 12:15 pm - 12:45 pm

Join us for Family, Parenting, & Love Community Conversations designed to offer parents, community stakeholders, and professionals a free educational series to support families. These free monthly conversations are presented on the first Tuesday and Friday of each month and are centered around different topics. Conversations are held simultaneously online and onsite.

A Brain-Based Approach to Supporting Regulation
In this session we will be discussing the three parts of the brain – the brain stem, the limbic system, and the cortex – and how the integration of these systems is imperative to emotional regulation. By using Dr. Dan Seigel’s Hand Model we can visually understand our brain structure and understand why integration of these systems is difficult when faced with stressful situations.
Presented by Leigh Ann Drew and Tami Rucker
