Speaker Series – Lee County Sheriff’s Office Autism Awareness Initiative

Join us as we continue our monthly speaker series focused on building understanding, access, and belonging for individuals with different abilities! This presentation will discuss the new partnership between Family Initiative and the Lee County Sheriff’s Office. This collaboration is designed to improve law enforcement interactions for individuals with autism and other developmental disabilities by providing real-time support. Representatives from the Lee County Sheriff’s Office, including deputies and professional staff, will be onsite to assist families with registering for the voluntary Special Persons Registry Database. This helps ensure deputies have important information to better support their loved ones in the event of an emergency.
